May 2026 Meeting

LOCATION: Monday May 11 at DJ’s Dugout 190th and Maple

****NOTE TIME AND LOCATION CHANGE****

TIME: 700pm, Food will be available

Have you ever considered entering yourself and your tractor in a tractor pulling contest? You do not have to have a super modified tractor to compete. There is a class for “stock tractors”. Driver skills are a major factor in winning.

Successful veteran puller Rich Braesch has been the coordinator for EVAPA and  Gretna Days Tractor Pulls for 28+ years. Rich will be our guest speaker for our May  meeting.

Rich will discuss how to get involved in this exciting sport. Both men and women have  the ability to become successful tractor pullers. There are rules that allow younger  drivers to participate. You can make tractor pulling a family sport!

Come join us for our May meeting for an enlightening presentation.

News and Note Worthy

We had great turnout at DJ’s Dugout for our April Meeting. Around 45 people listened to Mark Van Der Hart give an excellent presentation that focused not only on John Deere crawlers, but also his story of finding and engineering some of those hard-to-find parts for your restoration. He and his family run several shops in Elkhorn and Blair. If the part they needed was no longer available, they take the time to reverse engineer it and create a part that is usually of better quality than the original. I think it’s safe to say that none of us in the group really knew that resource existed so close to home. They ship parts all over the country. They had many items on display and answered numerous questions from the group. It was a very informative meeting, and Mark did a great job with his presentation.

EVAPA will again partner with Nelson’s for their truck and tractor days on September 19th and 20th 2026. Please make plans to bring a tractor or two to the farm to show them off for the weekend. Details will follow.

Plans are underway for our annual show at the Sarpy County Fairgrounds. The show will be August 1 & 2, 2026 and will feature 1940’s era tractors, trucks, military equipment and related items. It won’t be limited to those years so plan to bring anything you’ve got.

EVAPA has an opportunity to provide several tractors at an upcoming Strongman event to be held on August 8th. They will be looking for a smaller tractor around 2500-3000 lbs and also a larger tractor 6000 lbs or above. It will be a one-day event and would be great exposure for the club. We will have additional details soon.

Getting Ready For the Fair

EVAPA will hold their annual show at the Sarpy County Fair on Aug 1 & 2. Although we have given our oats ground back to the fair board this year, you can see below what it looked like in the past. This will be brome grass this year to feed the livestock at the fair. The threshing machine will still be on display for a close-up view of how the separation of oats from the chaff took place many many years ago.
