Help spread the news: We want a display of old farm trucks at the 2025 Elkhorn Valley Antique Power Show at the Sarpy County Fair, August 2nd and, August 3rd, 2025. If you have one, or know anyone who has an old truck, restored or in its work clothes, bring it to the show to display it. If you have to haul it to the show, we have a loading ramp.
Old trucks are a very important part of agricultural history. We had an International ¾ ton pickup. Using a few planks to make a platform we could haul 80 bales of hay to feed our cattle.

TOP 10 REASONS FARM TRUCKS AREN’T STOLEN
#10 They have about 20 miles before they overheat, break down or run out of fuel.
#9 Only the owner knows how to operate the door to get in or out.
#8 It is difficult to drive fast with all the fencing tools, grease guns, ropes, chains, syringes, buckets, boots and loose papers in the cab.
#7 It takes too long to start, and smoke coming up through the rusted-out floor clouds your vision.
#6 The Border Collie in the back looks mean.
#5 They’re too easy to spot. The description might go something like this: The driver’s side door is red, the passenger side door is green, the right front fender is yellow, etc.
#4 The bales of hay in the back makes it hard to see if you’re being chased. You could use the mirrors if they weren’t cracked and covered with duct tape and cow manure.
#3 Top speed is approximately 45 mph.
#2 Who wants to steal a truck that needs a year’s worth of maintenance, u- joints, $3,000 in body work, tail-lights and windshield?
#1 It is hard to commit a crime with everyone waving at you.
And today, a new one, most drivers do not know how to drive a manual transmission.
Give a copy of this to anyone you know that has a truck that would look good at the EVAPA show.
BRING YOUR OLD FARM TRUCKS TO DISPLAY THEM AT THE 2025 EVAPA SHOW
AT THE SARPY COUNTY FAIR, SPRINGFIELD, NE.
Spread the news: We want a display of old farm trucks at the 2025 Elkhorn Valley Antique
Power Show at the Sarpy County Fair, July 30th, to Sunday, August 3rd, 2025. If you have one, or
know anyone who has an old truck, restored or in its work clothes, bring it to the show to
display it.
Old trucks are a very important part of agricultural history. Farmers would raise grain and
animals on the farm. Trucks hauled essential food products from the farm to market to feed the
country and our soldiers and sailors during WWII.
Grandpa had a 1940 Chevy 2-ton farm truck with a grain box and a stock rack. During WWII that
truck made many trips at night to haul cattle to the Omaha Stock yard and the meat processing
plants. During the day, that truck hauled shelled corn to market from Grandpa’s custom corn
shelling operation. I am sure the old girl in the picture below has many stories she could tell.
Remember those good old trucks?
- No power steering,
- No power brakes
- No power windows
- Manual transmission
- No air conditioning
Give a copy of this to anyone you know that has a truck that would look good at
the EVAPA show. A truck in its work clothes is just as important and a fully
restored truck.
