Well that went fast…one minute we’re preparing for fair and the next minute school has started, football season is underway, and Vala’s is open. I guess it’s officially fall in Nebraska. These last few weeks have passed in an absolute blur for us. We’ve moved one child home, one child to Lincoln, set up four different classrooms, attended numerous football games, and tried to adjust to the new normal of this school year.
Thank you very much to Cheryl for finding us a new meeting location for September. My kids always love field trips and I’m sure you are all excited too!
We’re wishing Don Scholting a very happy 90th birthday! Find some time this week to wish him a happy birthday. 90 is quite an accomplishment!
Thank you to Rich Brausch for all of the blood, sweat, and tears he puts into the tractor pull every year. It is not an easy task to pull off such a great event, not only for the club, but also for the one he puts on in Gretna. A huge shout out to Cheryl Dillon and Kristine Dailey for the help getting the supplies and preparing the meal for the tractor pull. You guys are better than a food truck any day!!
We will not be mailing newsletters out this month. Our printer is broken and I don’t have access to another printer at this time. If you know of someone who receives the newsletter that attends our meeting regularly, please give them a call and remind them that the meeting on Thursday will be at a different location. Hopefully I will have it up and running or a replacement soon. It’s making getting my school things done very difficult (since I don’t have access at my schools either). I never realized how much I depended on that little machine until it decided to revolt and stop doing its only job!
Finally, please start seriously thinking about running for an open executive position. We will need a vice president, secretary, and two board members. This is a great opportunity for those of you who want to work behind the scenes or don’t have the ability to do the more physical activities, but want to be involved.
